To celebrate the Tie Bar’s first location in Chicago, they partnered with GQ on a series of events demonstrating the ‘How-To’s’ of being a modern gentleman. One in particular that we had the privilege of attending yesterday was the ‘How-To Mixology’ with our very own, Alex Renshaw, and Danny Shapiro from Scofflaw. With fabulous cocktails, beautiful clothing and handsome men, this event made Christmas shopping well worth the time and money!
Due to a little mishap with the delivery of incorrect ingredients for Alex’s original cocktail, he put his mixology skills to the test and came up with a cocktail using the ingredients at hand. Giving the beverage the name “On the Fly”, pun intended. Nevertheless, it was a huge hit. We’ve included the ingredients below so that you too can enjoy an Alex Renshaw original:
1.5oz Rittenhouse Rye
.75oz Lustau East India Sherry
.5oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth
.25oz Luxardo Amaro Abano
